I'm trying to create HTML signatures for my job and we all use Macs, therefore Outlook 2011 for Mac. We've only been successful in creating the signature using a Windows computer running Outlook. I've read numerous articles, forums, etc. And have had zero luck finding anyone who has successfully created an HTML signature and used it with Outlook for Mac 2011. I cannot get the images to show up when I email from my Exchange (work email) account to a Gmail, hotmail, or other account. It simply shows some HTML tags with the links to the images and links to the hyperlinks, but is all plain text and not HTML at all.
How Do I Set Default Browser for Outlook on Firefox 5+ Browse to Firefox (orange button in top left corner) > Options > Advanced > General tab > check “Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup” (under the “System Defaults” section). Preview in browser not working for Firefox - Mac. I'm guessing it could be somthing to do with my update to FF 3.6 as it was fine. The browser opens but the temp file does not show.

My encoding is set to UTF-8 in the Composing tab under the Outlook Preferences. Things I've tried:. Creating an HTML file in Dreamweaver, opening in a browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), then selecting all (CTRL+A), then copying all (CTRL+C), and then going to Outlook signatures and pasting (CTRL+V) into the signature box, assigning the signature to the appropriate account.
I then sent a test email from my Exchange (work email account) to several other emails (gmail, hotmail, etc.) and each time, the html signature does not come through as HTML - but as plain text with links to the images and hyperlinks. Creating the signature in Outlook's signature box itself. I dragged/dropped an image from Finder to the Signature box, added text, and hyperlinks (but am unable to hyperlink icons/images I dragged over.the image just disappears and the actual hyperlink text shows instead). I've then assigned the signature and tested by sending.
Again, no images show when receiving the email to a gmail or hotmail account, etc. Tried using the same signature file (the HTML file I created in Dreamweaver) and doing the copy/past method (#1 above) using a Windows Machine + Outlook, it worked fine. Tried remote logging into the Windows Machine and copying/pasting that code which worked in #3, and pasting to the Outlook Signature box on the Mac machine. It did not copy the images, only the text. Failed again.
Any and all help is much appreciated. I'm about to go crazy because I have yet to find a way which allows for nicely formatted HTML signatures to be sent from MS Outlook (using Exchange) to a gmail, hotmail, etc.
This is a fairly common problem with mac and pc's. Depending on the connection speed and how big the.pdf the pdf reader app starts well before the 'download'. People think that something is wrong and leave the site etc. As a prove out, try clicking on one of the.pdf files in question and walk away for a few minutes. If you are able to see the.pdf then its a lag/speed/size issue. One of the work arounds we use at the shop is to have preview view the.pdf.
Its much more 'patient' then adobe. Hope that helps! RE: pdf links won't open in safari browser??? (TechnicalUser) 22 May 10 02:34.
So Safari must have Adobe Reader built in. FireFox 3.6.3 apparently does not have Adobe Reader built in Let's make this complicated. Any browser (including Safari, Firefox, Opera, IE, Chrome) can be configured to open PDF files or to download them. A web server can also be configured to force download a PDF file instead of having the browser open it.
Adobe Reader is not the only PDF viewer. You can view PDF files in OS X without Adobe Reader. These browsers can have various helper apps associated to open/view PDF files. None of these browsers have built-in PDF capabilities. A helper app is always required. Recognizing that every user will have a distinct configuration for handling PDF files, there is no reliable way to control how your end user will handle the file.
If the issue of being unable to access links within a PDF file is happening exclusively on your own computer, consider configuring Safari to use the Adobe Reader component instead of OS X Preview. The sample link to lacity.org works fine in my Safari because I have Adobe Reader assigned to view it within the browser. It would help to troubleshoot this further if we knew what version of OS X was in use and if you were fully patched. I recall this issue in the past for OS X Preview and assumed it was already fixed.
